On June 6, 2025, the first students of the professional retraining courses under the program “Social Entrepreneurship in the field of social services” graduated. This unique educational program was developed as part of the international project “The Universities’ Reaction to Big Obstructions: Building resilient higher education to respond and manage societal crises” (TURBO), which aims to enhance the resilience of the higher education system and strengthen community capacity to tackle challenges.
Instructors from the Department of Sociology and Social Work at the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, along with specialists from the Center for Veteran Development at Lviv Polytechnic National University and the NGO New Society of Ukraine, led the program. This group of instructors ensured that participants gained both academic knowledge and practical experience in social services and support for vulnerable populations. Internally displaced persons seeking to develop new skills and launch their own social services projects attended the program.
The program combines an innovative educational approach, up-to-date knowledge of social entrepreneurship, and practical training for specialists working in social services. This training is especially important in today's environment.
Roman Korzh, the vice rector for academic affairs and social development at the university, welcomed the participants of the first wave of the program and wished the graduates inspiration, self-confidence, and continued success on their path to creating a socially responsible business.
The students of the courses responded very positively to the program, noting the quality of teaching, the relevance of the topics, and the practical value of the knowledge. This high rating motivates the teaching team and partners to work even harder with the next group of students.
We sincerely congratulate our graduates! We wish them inspiration, interesting projects, and new opportunities in the field of social change!
This project has received funding from the European Union (ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE) under grant agreement No 101129315.
