The Wroclaw University of Science and Technology has been an important research center in Poland for over 70 years. Today it is one of the best technical universities in the country – it has over 30,000 students, over 4,500 employees and 16 faculties. The university develops very dynamically, broadens cooperation with industry and business, responds to the technological needs of external entities, has unique laboratories and scientific staff. In 2015, it was recognized in the “Perspektywy” ranking as the best technical university in Poland. The department that will be mainly involved in the project is Center for Knowledge and Scientific and Technical Information (CWINT). Its part – Scientific and Research Laboratories carries out research and services in the area of innovative information and communication technologies (ICT) and multimedia technologies. The team currently consists of 14 laboratories. The activities of each of them are consistent with the priority directions of business and science development in Poland and Europe.

Selected services and trainings provided by the CWINT Scientific and Research Laboratories team:
Audits of digital accessibility is a comprehensive study of websites as well as mobile applications. Available e-documents – this service allows processing of any document into an electronic document that is fully accessible to people with disabilities and complies with the WCAG 2.0 standard (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). Virtual and Augmented Reality – these technologies are currently one of the most popular forms of interaction with the viewer, especially in interactive educational materials. Website usability research – these surveys provide information on whether the design guidelines of the website are compatible with the users’ reception (potential recipients of the website are recruited for research). Examination of interfaces allows to verify whether the proposed interaction is understandable and intuitive for users.
