The University hosted a workshop «Boost your digitalization» as part of the EUSTS project

On 25 November 2024, Lviv Polytechnic hosted a workshop «Boost your digitalization» as part of the project «European Studies for Technical Specialties at Lviv Polytechnic National University» (EUSTS) with the support of the EU Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Program. The interactive event contributed to the development of participants’ practical digital skills, as well as the formation of knowledge that will help improve their work and personal experience in the digital world.

The event was opened by Professor Yaryna Turchyn, Doctor of Political Science, EUSTS Project Manager, Director of the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences. She stressed the importance of integrating European experience into the digitalization of Ukraine and emphasized the need to improve digital literacy as a key aspect of society’s development and the competitiveness of young professionals in the labour market.

During the workshop, speaker Oleksandr Markovets, Head of the Department of Social Communication and Information Activities (SCIA Department), the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, shared his knowledge and life hacks on the use of digital technologies for:

  • effective use of Ukrainian online services such as Diia, Vulyk, Trembita and e-Maliatko, with a detailed explanation of the peculiarities of identification, authentication and authorisation in the digital environment;
  • creation and improvement of digital identification of a person, in particular, practical advice on how to design a profile to increase its professional attractiveness;
  • compliance with information security rules: the speaker emphasized the importance of data protection in the digital world and outlined the potential risks of digitalization.

Ruslana Pazderska, Assistant at the SCIA Department, spoke about the peculiarities of using social media to develop a personal brand. In particular, the speaker provided detailed information about such tools as SnapSeed (image editing), UNUM (content planning) and Grammarly (text improvement), which help to create an aesthetic and professional profile on social media.

In total, more than 30 people joined the workshop.

Associate Professor Nataliia Vovk (the Department of Social Communication and Information Activities), Associate Professors Oleh Tsebenko, Olha Ivasechko, Iryna Sukhorolska, Olena Lukachuk (the Department of Political Science and International Relations) and Associate Professor Lidiia Kasha (the Department of Electromechatronics and Computerized Electromechanical Systems) also joined the organization of the event.

The team of the EUSTS project expresses its gratitude to all the participants of this event – students and academics – and continues to organize other interesting events on relevant topics of Ukraine’s European integration.
