Lviv Polytechnic creates an innovative platform for the development of tourism, services and entrepreneurship

On 15 August, a strategic meeting aimed at developing tourism, services, trade and entrepreneurship in Lviv was held at Lviv Polytechnic National University. The event became a platform for dialogue between representatives of education, business and government, laying the foundation for the creation of an innovative platform for cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Nataliia Shakhovska, Rector of Lviv Polytechnic National University, Iryna Khomyshyn, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Quality of Education, Sviatoslav Kniaz, Director of the Viacheslav Chornovil Institute of Sustainable Development, Yaroslava Moskviak and Maria Lushchyk, Deputy Directors of the Viacheslav Chornovil Institute of Sustainable Development, Mariia Chyzhyshyn and Iryna Mylymiuk, co-founders of the Lviv Association of Hospitality and Tourism.

The delegation discussed the creation of an innovative platform for cooperation between students, teachers, entrepreneurs and representatives of the hotel and restaurant business; the establishment of a training centre at the university, which will serve as a base for training specialists in the field of tourism and services; the introduction of a career fair for companies in the tourism and HoReCa industries; the development of modern solutions for the development of tourism, trade and services in Lviv; as well as new formats for involving young people in practical business cases and projects that will allow students to gain real experience.

Special attention was paid to the implementation of a hotel analytics system, which involves the collection and analysis of key hotel performance indicators, demand forecasting, studying tourist behaviour, and improving the quality of management decisions in the hospitality sector.

This tool will allow for more effective planning of the tourism industry development and will increase Lviv’s competitiveness in the international market.

Following the meeting, the participants agreed to launch a series of educational and practical programmes that will combine both academic knowledge and real business solutions.
