The bachelor's program «Hotel and Restaurant Business» will operate at the Department of Tourism from September this year. Graduates of the program will be able to develop hotel and restaurant business – a very promising industry in Ukraine, especially in Lviv region.
Larysa Teodorovych, Associate Professor at the Department of Tourism, guarantor of the program, says:
– The realities of our time dictate the need to launch the program. Tourism will develop despite various social cataclysms. And the hotel and restaurant industry is first and foremost part of the tourism industry. Ukraine is becoming more and more known and popular. The modern labour market needs qualified specialists in the hotel and restaurant business. Therefore, we decided to expand the capabilities of our Department for training in the field of hotel and restaurant industry, ie in travel agencies and tour operators. Graduates of the department will be able to hold the positions of head of the institution, department, branch or restaurant manager. They will work not only in restaurants, but also in recreational areas, rest homes, nightclubs, etc.
Students of the specialty will study the organization of restaurant business, hotel management, organization of food services, equipment of hotel and restaurant establishments, ethnogastronomy (features of cuisine of different countries and peoples of the world), organization of healthy food and others.
Bachelor’s students will also be offered a range of additional courses, depending on what students want to focus on more: studying hotel or restaurant business.
