On November 7, 2024, an introductory meeting was held at Lviv City Council for students of Lviv Polytechnic National University as part of the First Career Step internship program. The event was organised by the University's Department of Employment and Industrial Relations at the invitation of the Lviv City Council's Human Resources Office.
The meeting was held in a large session hall where Lviv City Council sessions, plenary sessions, public conferences and other important events take place. Thus, future specialists were able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of city administration and feel themselves in the shoes of deputies and officials. Students of the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences (in particular, the Department of Social Communication and Information Activities) and the Institute of Economics and Management (in particular, the Department of Human Resource Management and Administration, the Department of Management of Organizations and the Department of Foreign Trade and Customs), as well as lecturers Svitlana Hladun, Tetiana Skliaruk and Zhanna Myna, took part in the meeting-presentation.
Natalia Tomchuk, curator of the First Career Step project, and Oksana Romaniuk, head of the Department for Training, Development and Competency Assessment of the HR Office, told the students about the administrative structure of Lviv City Council and the activities of various Departments that manage and control the main areas of the city's life and development.
The students also learnt about youth organizations and spaces for the development and self-realization of active youth in Lviv. In particular, they received an invitation to register for the First Career Step internship program at Lviv City Council, which enables future professionals to gain practical experience in local government and contribute to the development of the city.
During the meeting, the students were told in detail about the First Career Step internship program, which is an important initiative of the Lviv City Council. This program allows university students to gain valuable practical experience in various departments of the City Council. Through the internship, young people can learn about the internal processes of city management, working side by side with experienced professionals and studying the practical aspects of local government.
