The webinar on Horizon Europe Grant Opportunities was held on May 5, 2022. The online event, aimed at learning about the specifics of receiving financial support from the European grant program, was attended by 200 people. The event was conducted by the Project Office, Lviv Polytechnic National University, in cooperation with the FIT-4-NMP project and together with the national contact points of Horizon 2020 / Europe - Information and Communication Technologies and Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions on Skills, Training and Career Development.

Nazarii Andrushchak, Head of the Lviv Polytechnic Project Office, spoke about opportunities for researchers from Ukraine. Participants learned about the priorities of Horizon Europe and the main areas of funding for project ideas in the format of the following thematic pillars: «Perfect Science», «Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness», «Innovative Europe», «Enhancing Participation and Strengthening European Research». Mr. Andrushchak also voiced possible ways to find the most relevant Competition on the Funding and Tenders Portal and acquainted the audience with the typical structure of the application form.

Halyna Lazko, Head of the Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions on Skills, Training and Career Development, told everyone who joined about the MSCA's place in Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe, and voiced the benefits of participating in it. Mz. Lazko suggested developing an individual algorithm for each project applicant to participate in the following components: project idea, selection of the competition (type of action), defining the role in the project: coordinator or partner, forming a consortium or obtaining the consent of the host institution, registration (in the absence of a PIC), formation and submission of a project proposal.

More than an hour of discussion at the end of the event, which lasted almost four hours, showed the interest of Ukrainians in participating in the competitions of the grant program Horizon Europe. Thus, it was decided to hold an intensive workshop on May 12 and 19, 2022, on the topic «Grant Opportunities of the Horizon Europe program». During this event, the organizers will share practical experience in finding a competition and preparing a project proposal for the grant program Horizon Europe.
