The semifinal of the World Championship among student teams in the Southeast European region of the ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest) was at the same time the 3rd final stage of the All-Ukrainian student IT Olympiad. For the first time it took place on the basis of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv in December 2023.
This year, 131 teams representing 65 educational institutions of Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Cyprus, North Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine and Montenegro took part in the semifinals of the World Championship. There were 52 Ukrainian teams, some of the participants came to Lviv University and others took part online.
The Olympiad lasted 5 hours, during which each team performed more than a dozen tasks. As a result of the five-hour competition, 3 teams managed to find the right solutions for 9 tasks out of 12. All these teams are from Ukraine. The team of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics won the first place according to additional indicators (fewer penalty points).
It is also pleasant that in the framework of the final stage of the All-Ukrainian Student IT Olympiad in 2023, one of the two third places was taken by the NULP_Dezhavyu team from Lviv Polytechnic National University.
