An exhibition of student posters dedicated to the military events in Ukraine was recently opened in the main building of our University. The art project was created on the initiative of the Directorate of the Institute of Architecture and Design.
– The presented posters is a symbol that the war will end soon and we will rebuild the country. «Free, strong and creative» - this is the slogan associated with the work of our students who managed to depict the complex realities of today. We continue to select creative works for the exhibition. Therefore, the art project will continue at Lviv Polytechnic, says Yaroslav Rakochyi, Deputy Director of the Institute of Architecture and Design
The art project is organized within the disciplines of drawing and painting. Fourth-year students Alina Kostiuk, Anastasiia Litvinova, Luiza Danelian and Anastasia Dzebliuk majoring in Design joined exhibition with their creative works. The girls managed to reflect the emotional intensity of events and realities experienced by all Ukrainian society. Talented participants chose the themes of future posters by themselves. For example, Alina Kostiuk dedicated a series of her works to the dignity of the Ukrainian people and, in particular, the army. The student also raised the issue of rescuing animals suffering from hostilities. Anastasiia Litvinova depicted on posters the aggressive and difficult events of recent months. Student-designer Luiza Danelian decided to dedicate her mini-project to the future of her native country. Another important aspect was to improve the psychological well-being of Polytechnicians through art.
– Now Ukrainian society is at the stage of global reformation, says Violetta Radomska, the artist-restorer of the highest category, Associate Professor at the Department of Design and Architecture Fundamentals. – Reassessment of values and their formation forms a new vision. Design is a creative segment. Most people who work in this field are extremely sensitive to current events. This project united all. Our students found themselves in unpredictable circumstances and in different parts of the world. Nevertheless, they managed to organize and join online learning. As a result, our students have turned their creativity into a graphic product that is beneficial. I am proud of everyone who worked on the posters. I am also sincerely grateful to the IARD Directorate for the initiative and support of students in their creative endeavors. And if we managed to organize an art project in such a difficult time, then after the victory of Ukraine, we will implement other creative ideas.
And what do the students themselves think about the project? Anastasiia Dzebliuk, a fourth-year student of the IARD Department of Design and Architecture Fundamentals, shared her impressions with us:
– I really enjoyed working on the project, coming up with interesting topics and ideas. I am a very creative person and in my works I wanted to portray the realities of today. In one of the posters, I showed zombie population of Russia. They have no opinion and stupidly follow the instructions of the «king». Another poster became a kind of warning for those who encroach on Ukrainian territory. If the invaders come to our land, they will remain in it. Therefore, I want to urge the Russians to finally change their minds. I still hope that at least some of them will believe in the truth.
We wish Polytechnicians inspiration for new achievements. Together to victory!
