The Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies, Lviv Polytechnic National University, with the support of Ivan Demydov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, and Roman Nebesnyi, Head of the Research and Development Department, became a partner of the RWTH Aachen University project together with the National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute» and the National Technical University of Ukraine «Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute».
The basis of the project is the establishment of digital education in Ukrainian technical institutions of higher education through the implementation of 4 project initiatives:
- theory and application of the finite element method (Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute);
- coaching «Learning based on Avatar» (Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute);
- supplementing the collection of virtual expositions of minerals, ores and rocks and updating educational materials (Kyiv Polytechnic Institute);
- creation of a digital chemical laboratory (Lviv Polytechnic).
As part of the project implementation on the establishment of a digital chemical laboratory at the Department of Organic Products Technology, the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies, it is planned to develop 7 video recordings of laboratory classes in the educational disciplines «Fundamentals of Polymer Chemistry» and «Application of Organic Synthesis Products» with corresponding digital laboratory journals and protocols. All educational materials for students will be created in Ukrainian, English and German.
Lviv Polytechnic is represented by a team of chemical scientists, namely:
- Roman Nebesnyi, DScTech, Senior Researcher, Head of Research and Development Department (project coordinator);
- Volodymyr Ivasiv, DScTech, Senior Research Fellow, Associate Professor at the Department of Organic Products Technology;
- Oksana Orobchuk, CScTech, Associate Professor at the Department of Organic Products Technology;
- Roman Subtelny, CScTech, Associate Professor at the Department of Organic Products Technology.
