The Department of Robotics and Integrated Mechanical Engineering Technologies of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Transport continues to develop contacts with representatives of leading machine-building enterprises in Ukraine and Europe to use new technologies, modern equipment, and facilities in the educational process and research of the department. Thus, on April 2, 2024, a meeting of teachers and students of IMIT with representatives of PROFI Robotics Ukraine, which is a distributor of the world-famous KUKA AG in Ukraine, took place.
KUKA AG (Germany) is one of the leading companies in the field of robotics and automation of production processes. KUKA Corporation is known worldwide as a leader in the manufacture of robots for high-precision product positioning, lightweight robots, heavy-duty robots, palletizers, robots for the food industry, welding robots, robots suitable for CNC machining, and much more. The students were shown the results of completed projects to introduce KUKA products in Ukraine. The interesting report of the company's representatives aroused great interest among both students majoring in Applied Mechanics and the academic staff of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Transport. The students were most interested in the prospects of future employment at enterprises where KUKA's innovative projects are being implemented, the possibility of gaining skills in programming robotic systems, etc. The teachers of the department were especially interested in the possibility of joining the company's training programs and creating methodological support for educational programs in the specialty "Robotic Systems and Complexes" on their basis. PROFI Robotics Ukraine intends to develop and intensify its activities in the western region of Ukraine. In addition, this company plans to create a training laboratory for robotic systems based on the Department of Robotics and Integrated Mechanical Engineering Technologies. As a result of the meeting, the Department of RITM and PROFI Robotics Ukraine signed a cooperation agreement, which will become the basis for future cooperation in training highly qualified specialists in the field of robotics and automation of machine-building production in Ukraine.
