On March 7, 2022, a meeting was held for teachers-volunteers of the distance school for students of 7–11 grades of Lviv region. The work on the project was started by the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional State Administration in cooperation with the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies of the Institute of Jurisprudence, Psychology and Innovative Education, Lviv Polytechnic National University.
The conference participants outlined the key elements of training organization and the basic algorithm of actions. The launch of the school is scheduled in a few days. Teachers who have experience with the Moodle platform will quickly fill it with materials during the first week of study.
In a situation where there is a war in the country, our main task is to give children the opportunity to continue their education. We must do everything to organize the educational process, even in a distance format, – said Oleh Paska, Director of the Department of Education.
According to Marharyta Noskova, project coordinator, head of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies of Lviv Polytechnic, Moodle allows students to work via a smartphone and complete tasks even without the Internet.
In peacetime it takes 3–4 months, but we must do it in 10 days. There is a lot of work ahead. All teachers who joined the project have experience working on the platform. We see the interest of other teachers, so the team of teachers is growing. This will allow us to quickly fill the platform and check the tasks, – said Marharyta Noskova.
The training is planned to cover children of Lviv region, internally displaced persons and everyone who is abroad. All schools in the region will be distributed among teachers, and the process will be coordinated by the Regional Department of Education and the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies of Lviv Polytechnic.
