Full Stack training courses for Ukrainian veterans were officially started in Lviv. The initiators and organizers of the training program were Professor Oleksii Druhov, the Department of Management of Organizations, the Institute of Economics and Management, Lviv Polytechnic, and Professor Nataliia Shakhovska, Director of the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies.
The training program provides for a thorough study of technical programming skills, English language and soft skills development. The course will last 10 months, and the training will be held in a convenient format: offline at Sense Hub, located in the very center of the city, at 26 Rynok Square.
The course began with a project presentation for veterans, faculty, government officials and the media. Among others, Nataliia Shakhovska, Director of the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies, Lviv Polytechnic, Maksym Vasylyshyn, Deputy Chief of Staff, Lviv Regional Military Administration, Taras Repytskyi, Deputy at the Lviv City Council, and Oleh Karyi, Head of the Department of Management of Organizations, IEM, delivered welcome speeches.
Andriy Zholob, Head of the Lviv Centre for Services to Combatants, who was present at the event, said: «Adaptation after service is a difficult process, but such initiatives help veterans integrate into civilian life by acquiring prestigious and highly paid professions».
«We see great potential in veterans and want to help them find their place in the IT world. Our task is to provide them with quality knowledge, internship and support in their first steps towards professional development», said Yevhen Sedler, a representative of EveryMatrix company, the project’s partner.
12 war veterans out of more than 90 applicants were selected for the course which started immediately after the presentation. The project organisers plan to recruit and train 5–6 groups of veterans in popular IT areas, as well as provide them with internships at leading IT companies and help them with further employment.
The project is being implemented with the participation of IT company EveryMatrix, the Lviv Centre for Services to Combatants, Lviv Regional Military Administration, Lviv Polytechnic National University and Sense Bank.
Faculty and students from the Department of Management of Organizations and the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies, including Associate Professor Mariana Hvozd, Mariia Kondyrevych, Volodymyr Pankiv and others, are helping to implement the project.
