On the initiative of the Department for Culture, Nationalities and Religions of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, as part of the events dedicated to the 81st anniversary of the creation of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), a mobile exhibition of the Lviv Historical Museum «The Army of the Undefeated» was hosted in the main building of Lviv Polytechnic National University from October 16 to 20.
The exhibition, arranged and curated by Liuba Koval, a senior researcher at Lviv Historical Museum, consists of fifteen thematic banners. It shows the history of establishment, structure and activities of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. The project is designed to give visitors an understanding of the Ukrainian struggle over the past two centuries: from the time of the UPA to the modern armed confrontation of Ukraine in the war with Russia.
Teaching staff and students looked at the stands with interest: photos of commanders and soldiers, copies of documents, interesting and accessible information.
«It is very good that such cooperation between our cultural and educational institutions is being initiated and implemented. As a result we have events that are extremely important for the national patriotic education of Ukrainian schoolchildren and students. We must tell them about the glorious pages of our struggle, about outstanding figures of the national liberation movement, about the soldiers of the OUN-UPA. We must motivate both children and young people to study and know their history and in such a way nurture in them pride for their state and readiness to defend it», said Iryna Havryliuk, Director of the Department for Culture, Nationalities and Religions, Lviv Regional Military Administration.
