In 2023–2025, faculty members of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic” participated in the international educational project Open Educational Resources with Ukraine (https://lpnu.ua/en/oer-with-ukraine), aimed at supporting the development of digital education and the creation of open educational resources through collaboration between Ukrainian and German universities. This project was part of the Ukraine Digital: Ensuring Academic Success in Times of Crisis initiative, funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany.
Lviv Polytechnic was one of six Ukrainian institutions involved in implementing this initiative, alongside the German National Library of Science and Technology at the Leibniz University Hannover, the Joint Laboratory for Data Science and Open Knowledge at Leibniz University Hannover, and the Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology in Germany. Throughout the project, workshops were held focused on creating open educational video courses, during which participants learned digital content tools as well as techniques for recording and editing educational lectures.
All 17 participants from Lviv Polytechnic, including representatives from the departments of Information Systems and Networks, Artificial Intelligence Systems, Applied Linguistics, and others, successfully completed the professional development program and received certificates validated with 1 to 6 ECTS credits.
The National University “Lviv Polytechnic” is represented in the project by 16 video courses covering a wide range of academic topics. The courses include a total of 124 educational videos, which are already openly accessible on the OER with Ukraine channel on the TIB AV-Portal platform. This platform is the leading German web resource for distributing academic videos, ensuring openness, quality, and long-term access to the created materials.
As of June 2025, the total number of views of the uploaded videos reached nearly 14,000, indicating interest in the courses both in Ukraine and abroad. Lviv Polytechnic’s participation in this project was a significant step towards strengthening international cooperation in digital education and further confirmation of the high professional training level of its academic staff.
