A meeting with Marino Fardelli – the ombudsman of Italy and the Lazio region was held at Lviv Polytechnic as part of the project «EU Global Responsible Leadership: Climate Change, Environmental Protection and Humanitarian Aid» (EU_LEAD), which is supported by the EU Erasmus+ programme.
Marino Fardelli’s visit to our university began with a meeting with the rector, Professor Yurii Bobalo, during which the ombudsman had the opportunity to learn more about Lviv Polytechnic and opportunities for its students. Yurii Bobalo proposed to the distinguished guest to expand cooperation with the Polytechnic. From his part, Marino Fardelli expressed support for the university community and Ukraine in general.
After that, Marino Fardelli gave a public lecture «Civic activism and human rights: a meeting with students of Lviv Polytechnic National University». Almost two hundred students from various majors at Lviv Polytechnic, faculty and the team of the EU_LEAD project took part in the event.
It should be noted that Bohdana Voiat, a graduate of the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences (IHSS), Lviv Polytechnic, helped organize the meeting and interpreted Marino Fardelli. She has been working as a project manager at Sigma Software for over two years and is a freelance advisor to the Italian Ombudsman.
– It is a great honour for me to be here – began his speech Marino Fardelli in the Assembly Hall. – Thank you, Yaryna Turchyn and Oleh Tsebenko, for the invitation. This meeting will remain in my heart for a long time. I also thank the students for their initiative and activity.
The ombudsman made his speech about his life path and professional activity. Those present had the opportunity to learn a lot of interesting things about the specifics of this profession, as well as see how purposeful work opens up new opportunities.
