In 2019, thanks to the initiative of the European Commission, the European Alliance Unite! was created. It envisages the formation of the European Educational Area by 2025. In 2022, with the financial support of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA, seven Ukrainian institutions of higher education, including Lviv Polytechnic National University, joined this Alliance.

On September 19–22, 2023, the annual conference Unite! Dialogue under the slogan «Unite! Ecosystems» took place in the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Poland. The conference emphasized the importance of cooperation and integration in European university ecosystems. Such meetings contribute to increasing recognition of Unite!, its vision and values in the community of member universities.

Among more than 300 conference participants there were representatives of seven Ukrainian universities. Lviv Polytechnic was represented by Professor Nataliya Chukhray, Vice-Rector for Education and International Relations, and Professor Ihor Shchur, Head of the Department of Electromechatronics and Computerized Electromechanical Systems, the Institute of Power Engineering and Control Systems. Together with their colleagues, they developed the standards according to which they would implement and evaluate the green transformation of Ukrainian universities in education, science and campus development.

An important stage of the participation of the Ukrainian HEIs in the Alliance was the Summer School for students from Ukraine, which took place from September 18 to 23 in the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. Our university was represented by ten students: Maria Sukhynska, Paulina Fedorko, Sofia Mukha, Kateryna Balda, Nina Matselyk and Viktoriia Dolynkevych, the Institute of Power Engineering and Control Systems, and Oleksandra Leheta, Renata Seifullina, Tetiana Lukashevych and Elyzaveta Vit, the Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Systems. The students attended a series of interesting lectures and took part in business games that covered various directions of modern sustainable development of society, starting from green business and management and ending with smart cities. All classes were conducted in English.

The experience gained by students will be useful for further stimulating innovation, productivity and sustainable development of our country.
