On 19 September 2025, the first cycle of the unique four-module Professional Development Program for Academic Managers concluded. The six-month program was initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and implemented by the British Council within the joint project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the World Bank «Ukraine Improving Higher Education for Results Project – UIHERP». The cycle culminated in an international online conference that brought together over 400 participants from across Ukraine, including trainers. During the event, the results of the program were presented, and participating teams defended their institutional change projects.
The Lviv Polytechnic team was led by Ivan Demydov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Vice-Rector for Research in 2019–2025, Professor at the Department of Information and Communication Technologies, the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies and Electronic Engineering.
It is worth noting that the six-month certificate-based Professional Development Program for Academic Managers was launched to strengthen the institutional capacity of Ukrainian higher education institutions by enhancing the competencies of academic managers in such areas as higher education transformation, good governance, strategic and financial management, human resources management, internationalization, and institutional change.
Following the second competitive selection, two teams from Lviv Polytechnic were chosen to participate in the second cycle of the Professional Development Program for Academic Managers, namely:
- team leader – Mykola Lohoida, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Vice-Rector for Academic Work and Student Potential Development (Lviv);
- team leader – Nazarii Popadynets, Doctor of Economics, Senior Researcher, Acting Director of the Institute of Enterprise and Advanced Technologies (Kyiv).
