Academics, postgraduate students and students of IHSS listened to a series of lectures by an Associate Professor of the German Institute of Slavic Studies

On November 11–13, 2021, as part of the University Guest Lecturer project, a series of lectures on «Philosophical aspects of linguistic identity» for academics, postgraduate students and students of the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, Lviv Polytechnic, were conducted by Olesya Palinska, Associate Professor at the Institute of Slavic Studies, Karl von Osetsky University of Oldenburg, Germany.

The lecturer covered a range of extremely interesting and topical issues related to the problems of linguistic identity and consciousness, interpretations of linguistic identity in modern socio-humanitarian knowledge, peculiarities of linguistic identity in a post-totalitarian society and modern Ukrainian identity. The lecturer’s conclusions based on the presentation of the results of a thorough study of this topic were especially interesting. At the end of the lectures, students actively discussed the peculiarities, state and prospects of modern linguistic identity in Ukraine.

The speaker also shared her experience in organizing and implementing international grant projects, which is interesting for academics in terms of establishing future relationships with international partners and for conducting research.

The event was organized by the Department of Philosophy, the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, Lviv Polytechnic.
