Lecturer Lenka Сisarova (T. Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic) started a series of guest lectures on new trends in journalism.
On November 14, have started series of guest lectures for students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the Lviv Polytechnic National University by Lenka Cisarova, PhD, Head of the Department of Media Studies at T. Masaryk University (Brno, Czech Republic). The event is organized as part of the implementation of grant #22310314 "Journalism education in the V4 countries and Ukraine: strengthening cooperation" with the funds of the International Visegrad Fund.
During the lecture on the topic "Old rules - new working conditions of journalists", Lenka Cisarova outlined the circumstances in which journalists around the world now have to work. In particular, she drew attention to the influence of the war in Ukraine on journalistic work, the peculiarities of the structure of modern media and the importance of maintaining journalistic standards under any conditions. The lecturer pronounced deoligarchization as an important factor for the development of the media industry in the right direction. According to Lenka Cisarova, it is the transparent structure of media ownership and limiting the influence of oligarchs on the mass media that would help ensure the provision of more objective and balanced information. The media researcher proposed to the audience to think about ways to get out of the so-called "information bubble" and further discuss these ideas during the meetings.
