Overview of the modules

The Jean Monnet Chair in European Studies for Technical Students at Lviv Polytechnic National University is an interdisciplinary, multiplicative, interactive project that includes three study modules:

  1. "Ukraine - EU Digital Transformation,
  2. "EU Energy and New Trends for Ukraine,
  3. "Environmental and Climate Resilience of the EU.

Focus of the modules:

  • formation of a conscious, critically thinking and eco-active Ukrainian youth with assimilated European values and European focus;
  • deepening and shaping the skills and abilities of technical students, as well as stimulating further interdisciplinary research related to the implementation of European standards in the professional activities of such graduates;
  • development of European studies and related research in Ukrainian universities, academic circles, expert communities;
  • sharing and promoting modern European ambitious goals and projects in the areas of digitalisation, energy, environment, climate change and sustainable development;
  • define the role and place of Ukraine in the European integration process and the implementation of European standards.

Module objectives:

  • to raise interest and awareness of a wide number of participants in the educational process and all stakeholders about the future of European countries in the modern globalized world;
  • promoting European values, with a focus on the EU's ambitious goals of digital transformation, sustainable energy, climate and environmental sustainability;
  • applying the best European cases to share European experience and policy;
  • studying Ukraine's place and role in the approximation to EU standards in the field of environment, energy and digitalisation, tracking the dynamics of the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and the effectiveness of the implementation of the national reforms.
