The U.S. Embassy provides various types of assistance in training, consultations, and grants that provide opportunities to teach and learn English, and participate in cultural and exchange programs. The U.S. Embassy's Office of Academic Exchange coordinates and shares information on U.S. exchange programs for Ukrainian high school students, university students, and researchers in the humanities and social sciences. Programs are announced each autumn and are open to participants who meet all eligibility criteria and are fluent in English.

The Office of Academic Exchange coordinates all programs funded by the U.S. Department of State. The Office of Sports Diplomacy in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) uses sports as a platform to introduce foreign participants to American culture and provide them with the opportunity to network with professionals and colleagues in American sports. Sports Visitor Programs are intensive two-week exchange programs. Each program has a unique theme, but all programs integrate sports with leadership development, volunteerism, and interaction with American society, culture, and values.
