Research at the Department

Scientific research directions:

  • “Optimization of road network and pedestrian-traffic flows parameters and organization of road transportation” (state registration number 0113U001348 from 2013 to 2018);
  • “Road transport systems optimization and road safety increas” (state registration number 0118U000348 from 2018 to 2022).

Main scientific directions:

  • Signalized intersections functioning studying;
  • Traffic control systems development using fuzzy logic approaches, considering dangerous goods transportation;
  • Research of drivers` psychophysiological features in difficult road situations
  • Research and optimization of urban passenger transport systems functioning taking into account intermodal routes.

The department has the research laboratory №123, which is equipped with traffic flow simulation modern software (PTV Vision VISSIM), signalized and unsignalized intersections parameters calculation (LISA +), cargo and passenger transportation development and optimization (PTV Vision VISUM). Software WinMultiPointSvrPrem 2012 RUS OLP NL Acdmc, WinMultiPointSvrCAL 2012 RUS OLP NL Acdmc wWinSvrCAL DvcCAL (11 units), STATGRAPHICS Centurion XVI (32-bit / 64-bit) Multilingual (5 unit (1525 per / unit), PTV Vision Traffic Suite (Universe, Vissim, Vistro) academic license, AnyLogic University Researcher, One Year of Maintenance and Technical Support Services for AnyLogic University Researcher (2 years), AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018, Copert street level is also used.

In addition, the department has modern equipment for driver` psychophysiological indicators study (steering simulator, “Kardiosens”, “Neurocom”, and «Polar H10» devices), road network parameters (shock, rangefinder, light meter), traffic flows (“Radis” speed detection device, gas analyzer, noise meter) and vehicles (car dynamic characteristics measure Sprint SG-2).
