Students of the University College of Technology take courses from Cisco Networking Academy

A branch of the Cisco Network Academy has been operating for the third year in a row at the College of Technology, Lviv Polytechnic National University. Accordingly, college teachers can incorporate current methodological developments from Cisco Networking Academy into their study programs in the following areas: computer networking, cybersecurity, IoT, programming, and general computer awareness. All methodological developments from the Academy used in the college are certified by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine.

The study program of the discipline «Information Security Technologies», which is studied by students majoring in Computer Science, includes two courses from Cisco Academy: Introduction to Cybersecurity 2.1 and Cybersecurity Essentials v1.0. The courses are designed for students who see their future career in IT with a specialization in cybersecurity.

In the first semester, students of groups KN-41 and KN-42 mastered the first part of the discipline «Information Security Technologies». At the same time, most of them successfully passed the Introduction to Cybersecurity exam. This success has been recognized by the Cisco Academy with appropriate certificates and digital badges. In the second semester, the second course in cybersecurity – Cybersecurity Essentials – has started.

Also this academic year, accredited Ukrainian universities began training specialists in computer networks under the updated CCNAv7 study program, which consists of three courses. It helps Cisco Networking Academy participants gain the skills they need for their job and create the foundation for a successful career as well as upskilling in the field of network technologies.

In their first semester the 4th year students majoring in Computer Engineering, the College of Technology, passed the first year program CCNAv7 – Introduction to Networks. Thirty students successfully passed the final exams above the average level. Along with the Computer Networking test, everyone received a certificate and a digital badge.

The second course of CCNAv7 – Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials – began in the second semester.
