Kateryna Ivanets and Tetiana Chornomorets, the third-year students majoring in Architecture and Urban Planning at the Institute of Architecture and Design, gladly responded to the suggestion of their teacher, Associate Professor Ludmyla Hnes, and volunteered to participate in an interesting two-week workshop on revitalization, held in the capital of Lithuania – Vilnius.

– We were given the task of designing the revitalization of the Soviet school, and modernizing it to current teaching standards and new principles. It was proposed to implement it on the example of a typical building of the 60s of the last century. We worked in groups, says Kateryna Ivanets, one of the workshop participants.

In addition to the implementation of their projects, students attended thematic lectures by teachers of various universities, and went on tours to modern and old schools of the city. They also managed to see interesting places and visit the Nida Peninsula.

At the end of the workshop, each group presented its own project. Our team designed on the local landscape a continuation of the dining room as a space.

Did Lviv Polytechnic students like this workshop?

In their opinion, it was an opportunity to improve their knowledge of the English language, as well as to gain experience in cooperation and communication with different students, to see how they are taught in Lithuanian universities, as well as to learn about various architectural solutions and methods.
