A series of trainings within the GrantWriter project has ended in the Polytechnic-2 Recreational Camp

From February 3 to 6, 2022, trainings within the GrantWriter project, organized by the Council of Young Scientists at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, took place in Slavske village at the Polytechnic-2 Recreational Camp, Lviv Polytechnic National University.

The first day of the training project was dedicated to the issues of grant opportunities for young scientists in Ukraine and abroad. During the theoretical part, speakers Viktoriia Lemeshchenko-Lahoda and Andrii Khorolskyi told the participants about the main purpose and goals of the grantors, answered questions about where to look for grant proposals, how to understand what the grantor wants, and how to effectively manage the team. Speaker Olesia Vashchuk drew the attention of project participants to the peculiarities of the organization of work on the project application, description of research issues and the state of developments on the topic.

During the practical part, participants had the opportunity to discuss the specifics of the search for grant proposals, which should be taken into account during their study, teamwork in the preparation of the grant proposal, and began to work on their own grant applications.

On the second day of the Grantwriter project, participants learned about the writing and description of methods and approaches to scientific work and scientific and technical development, as well as learned to correctly identify and note the expected results, scientific novelty and practical value of projects.

Speaker Olesia Vashchuk stressed the importance of these items during the preparation of the grant application and provided practical advice on their formulation and writing. All the knowledge of the theoretical block participants immediately used in practice, filling out their own project applications.

Then there was a practical session where the participants worked on the financial justification of the project.

On the fourth day, the students learned about the criteria for evaluating projects and the peculiarities of drawing up a scientific-expert opinion, tried to analyze their own projects and acted as experts.

During the closing ceremony of the Grantwriter project, speaker Olesia Vashchuk summed up the results of joint work, stressed the importance of the development of youth science and wished the participants successful projects and further scientific achievements.
