Lviv region became one of the regions where the European project SELFIE (Self-reflection on Effective Learning by Fostering the Use of Innovative Educational Technologies) was implemented. It is a platform that allows self-analysis of the educational institution’s readiness for digital transformations, ie to assess how ready the educational institution is for transformations.
The tool was created by the European Foundation for Education and the European Training Center. Lviv region together with Zaporizhzhia region was chosen as a pilot. In Lviv region, the project is coordinated and supported by the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies, the Institute of Jurisprudence, Psychology and Innovative Education, Lviv Polytechnic National University.
The piloting of the project, which took place in May-June 2021, demonstrated the positive dynamics of changes in the education digitalization.
– A generalized analysis of the evaluation results of this tool showed that it was evaluated at 4.7 points. Piloting has shown that we have problems with professional development, but there is a dynamic of change in this direction. There is also a problem with evaluation and interaction in the environment. So we see that in one direction there is development, and in others – a passive position. Due to this tool, each school can directly, without outside influences, get a detailed objective analysis of the state of affairs in its institution, from which it can draw certain conclusions to improve the situation, – said Marharyta Noskova, regional project coordinator, head of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies, Lviv Polytechnic.
In the region, more than 6,700 respondents from among students, teachers and heads of pilot educational institutions were involved in the project. Most schools intend to continue to use this tool to understand the dynamics of change in a given area.
The successful piloting of the project in Ukraine was noted by international partners at the seminar.
