The 2nd International Scientific Symposium «Sustainable Development – State and Prospects» was held from February 12 to 15, 2020, in Slavske. The event is organized by Viacheslav Chornovil Institute of Sustainable Development, Lviv Polytechnic National University, and coorganized by the All Ukrainian Ecological League
Professor Oleksandr Moroz, Director of ISD, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, opened the symposium, greeting the participants and wishing them successful work. He also emphasized the relevance of the symposium and its importance for achieving the goals of sustainable development.
Professors O. Nahurskyi, M. Maliovanyi, V. Boholiubov, V. Mokryi, colleagues from Germany (Dr. Jörn Schultheiß) and Poland (Dr. Leszek Buller) reported at the plenary session. They continued to work at sectional meetings in accordance with the directions of the Symposium. The highlight of the next day was a report made by Christian Czerner, Austria, expert in waste management.
In general, the reports of all participants were interesting and diverse: about climate change, monitoring and management of protected nature territories, ecological safety of production, sewage treatment technologies, air pollution and treatment technologies, soil pollution prevention, as well as about expertise of goods, entrepreneurship, tourism and recreation, etc.
