On the eve of Ukraine’s Independence Day, in the reading room of the Lviv Polytechnic Scientific and Technical Library, a conversation took place with a military analyst, Colonel Petro Chernyk, which was prompted by his lecture on the topic «When will we win the war?». The speaker gave answers to the most pressing questions of today and talked about how to bring our victory closer.
«At the moment, it is too early to talk about peace, because we can achieve it in only two ways. The first is surrender. I am convinced that if we surrender, the enemy will kill us. The entire Ukrainian intelligentsia will be destroyed. Such events have already happened in our history. Therefore, Ukraine has no right to defeat. We need to unite all our forces for victory», emphasized the military expert.
Petro Chernyk predicted that the hot phase of the war could end in the fall. But after a pause, the situation will escalate again.
«The Moscow Empire cannot exist without Ukraine. This war became the point of no return. Muscovites never had their own identity. Therefore, they cannot accept our statehood. Either we will defeat them or we will lose our independence. The enemy used a very powerful weapon. This is propaganda. In this area, Moscow has reached the level that cannot be surpassed by any of the countries in the world», said Petro Chernyk.
Also, at the meeting, the military expert noted that Ukraine needs such a model of the Armed Forces, where absolutely everyone serves.
«If you want peace, prepare for war. If we build such a system as in Switzerland, we will live richly and happily. The state is not only the government, it is the whole society. We need to develop a system of high-quality mobilization training. In my opinion, the army of Ukraine should number at least 350 thousand people. Also, at least 3% of GDP should be allocated to the army. For the first time in the history of Ukraine, we have one enemy and the global support of the world community. We have a unique chance to develop statehood. Now we are fighting for the establishment of a civilized European state. I think that the Ukrainian political nation has just been born. In about 40 years, this «child» will stand on its feet», added the military expert.
Everyone can make the victory closer. So, let’s continue to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, let’s not get tired of working and volunteering for the sake of Ukraine’s flourishing future.
