Representatives of Lviv Polytechnic took part in the Global Week partner conference of Nottingham Trent University

For a week, from February 27 to March 3, 2023, Liliia Zhuk, Vice-Rector for Education and Strategic Development, Lviv Polytechnic National University, and Oksana Ivanytska, Assistant at the Department of Foreign Languages, the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, visited Nottingham Trent University as part of the NTU Global Week partner conference. Representatives of Lviv Polytechnic took part in the events at the invitation of Professor Cillian Ryan, Pro Vice-Chancellor International.

Conference participants had the opportunity to join a number of events that took place within the framework of Global Week. In particular, they took part in the panel discussion «Global Question Time», which was organized by Professor Edward Peck, Vice-Chancellor and President of Nottingham Trent University. They took part in a master class and a seminar on sustainable development policy within the framework of the work of the Green Internationalization Commission. Polytechnicians also participated in the global alumni forum and virtual teaching and learning forum.

The participants of Global Week were representatives of seven universities – partners of NTU, representing Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America:

  • Lviv Polytechnic National University;
  • Communication University of China;
  • Punjab University, India;
  • I-Shou University, Taiwan;
  • Makerere University, Uganda;
  • Humber College, Canada;
  • University of Catholique de Lille, France.

― For us, the experience of Nottingham Trent University is extremely useful, in particular regarding the organization of the graduate employment system, interaction with graduates, their involvement in the activities and development of the university, familiarization with the work of the Student Support Center, as well as approaches to the organization of educational spaces, noted Vice-Rector Liliia Zhuk.

For the week, extremely important issues related to global cooperation between universities, challenges and opportunities related to online education, the influence of international and national rankings on the attraction of entrants and staff selection, etc. were discussed.

― We see great potential in the development of the partnership between Nottingham Trent University and Lviv Polytechnic and have a common desire to develop academic and scientific cooperation between our universities. We hope to open new forms of interaction that will benefit our academic communities and civil society in general, added Liliia Zhuk.

The participation of Polytechnicians in the Global Week partner conference is a continuation of cooperation with Nottingham Trent University. For the second year already, Lviv Polytechnic is actively working on multifaceted projects that expand opportunities for scientists and students of both universities.
