The Rector of Lviv Polytechnic discussed the possibility of unifying the HEIs at a meeting with the rector of the Ukrainian Academy of Printing

On February 21, on the initiative of Professor Yuriy Bobalo, Rector of Lviv Polytechnic National University, a meeting was held with Professor Bohdan Durniak, Rector of the Ukrainian Academy of Printing, during which they discussed the possibility of joining this institution of higher education to our University.

This meeting was the result of an extended meeting of the Union of Rectors (almost 100 heads of higher education institutions participated). Oksen Lisovyi, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Mykhailo Vynnytskyi, Deputy Minister, Oleh Sharov, Director General of the Directorate of Vocational Higher Education, and ex-ministers Liliya Hrynevych, Stanislav Nikolaienko, Serhii Shkarlet, Mykhailo Zhurovskyi, Serhii Kvit and Vasyl Kremen attanded the meeting.

According to Yurii Bobalo, the conversation took place in a positive and constructive direction:

― We discussed the importance of preserving the unique aspects of the Ukrainian Academy of Printing, developing educational programs, improving the structure of this institution of higher education, and providing guarantees for scientific and pedagogical workers and students, in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine.

There also will be a number of meetings with faculty and students of the Ukrainian Academy of Printing.

― I can assure you – in case of unification no employee of this HEI will be fired. Moreover, we will provide additional opportunities for the professional development of scientific and pedagogical workers. Also, the tuition and accommodation fees for current students will not change. In addition, it should be emphasized that the students will complete their studies according to the majors and educational programs they were enrolled in, added Yurii Bobalo.

The rectors plan to hold the next meeting next week.
