On August 31, Yurii Bobalo, Rector of Lviv Polytechnic, and Oleksandr Zakhariash, Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology, Pedagogics and Social Management, the Institute of Jurisprudence, Psychology and Innovative Education, met with Olena Petryshyn, one of the twelve winners of the All-Ukrainian literary essay contest «Science is She», a tenth-grader at Lviv Physics and Mathematics Lyceum.

Olena Petryshyn won with the essay «Oksana Piven: A Woman Who Destroys Stereotypes». The task of the competition was to tell about the contribution to the development of science and society of one of the 12 outstanding Ukrainian women scientists. 561 girls aged 14 to 21 from all over Ukraine took part in the competition.

The girl shared her impressions of the competition, and also said that she is fond of physics, although in general she is interested in different areas. In particular, the Lyceum student is preparing articles for the school newspaper, so she took a blitz interview with Yurii Bobalo.

– Three things do not return in life: time, word and opportunity. Therefore, never waste time, because you will not return it, keep the word you gave – no matter to whom, and most importantly – never lose opportunities, – advised Rector Yurii Bobalo the girl.

The young guest was told about the advantages and opportunities of studying at Polytechnic. She was also offered to work together on the topic of modeling processes in physics, as the lyceum student is interested in science. In addition, the girl was given a tour to the Assembly Hall, Zachariewicz Hall and modern laboratories of our University.
