A project for relocated businesses and IDPs, which will be implemented in cooperation with the University, is launched in Lviv region

On March 1, 2023, the project «Development and conducting educational trainings to improve entrepreneurial skills of IDPs and relocated businesses with the possibility of further integration into SMEs of Lviv region» was launched in Lviv region.

«Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than two hundred enterprises have been relocated to Lviv region. Therefore, one of our important tasks is to support relocated businesses. We do this, in particular, with the funds of the regional budget, as well as by involving various grant organizations. Today we are presenting one of such projects, which is aimed at improving the entrepreneurial skills of IDPs, and representatives of relocated enterprises», said Orest Hryniv, Deputy Director of the Department of Economic Policy, Lviv Regional Military Administration.

Previously, the organizers conducted an analytical study aimed at forming a list of in-demand jobs in key industries that were most affected by the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine and developing a Map of Opportunities with profiles of in-demand jobs in Lviv region.

Internally displaced persons, and representatives of businesses relocated to Lviv region, and interested entrepreneurs of the region are invited for training.

According to Olena Lukachuk, project coordinator, a researcher at the research commercialization group of the Research and Development Department, Lviv Polytechnic National University, the topics that will be included in the trainings are the following:

  • opportunities for the Ukrainian manufacturer to enter the European market;
  • grant opportunities: state and international;
  • protection of personal data;
  • additional opportunities, in particular attracting investments for business development;
  • fundraising and crowdfunding practices;
  • business self-presentation to attract investments;
  • psychological and emotional state of the team;
  • protection of intellectual property in business.

Focusing on the issue of intellectual property, Oleksii Dehtiarenko, head of the Dehtiarenko and Partners Bar Association, Chairman of the Business Council of Rotary International, emphasized: «We must show the European Union that we are a truly European state and must be guided by the principles that exist in other European countries. Together with our partners, we will be able to prove that Ukrainian business is worthy of taking a high place in the competitive environment of the EU».

The participants of the trainings will receive individual plans of integration into the chosen sector of local business and consulting support of experts.

The project is implemented with the support of the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE Ukraine).

Employees of Lviv Polytechnic National University are involved in the project, in particular the group of commercialization of scientific research and protection of intellectual property rights of the Research and Development Department, the Project Office, the Institute of Jurisprudence, Psychology and Innovative Education, the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies.
