According to the results of last year, 109 platforms were deployed in educational institutions within the framework of the project «Moodle is pro100!» The organizers and implementers of the project are the Department of Education and Science, Lviv Regional State Administration and the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies, Lviv Polytechnic National University.
Schools and vocational education institutions volunteered to participate in the project to create one electronic environment. As a result, the distance learning platform has been launched in all institutions, and more than two and a half thousand teachers have been trained.
One hundred more educational institutions are planned to join the project this year. The project will be divided into two parts: for new participants and for those who started working on the project last year.
– Last year «Moodle is pro100!» started a little bit late. Therefore, the deployment of the platform shifted to August – December. To speed up this process this year, we will start concluding contracts in January, and in March we will teach teachers basic skills. The platform should be deployed in March-June, so that all institutions that have applied for the project can use everything they need in the summer. Therefore, the 2022–2023 academic year must become a full-fledged Moodle year, – said Marharyta Noskova, Director of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies, Institute of Jurisprudence, Psychology and Innovative Education, Lviv Polytechnic.
Teacher skills are an important factor in working on the Moodle platform, so training is a necessary part of the project. Thus, the schools, which took part in the project and were trained, mark the advantages of the platform and encourage colleagues to choose Moodle.
Last year, Lviv region also took part in the European project SELFIE (Self-reflection on Effective Learning by Fostering the Use of Innovative Educational Technologies). It is a platform that allows the educational institution to self-analyze its digital transformations, look at the school through the eyes of the director, teacher or student and see how the institution works from the inside. The coordination of the project in general secondary education institutions of Lviv region is carried out by the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies of Lviv Polytechnic. Three dozen institutions of the region have already passed the survey.
According to the results of last year’s piloting, representatives of the European Training Foundation are ready to provide an opportunity to take the survey and conduct a project in all educational institutions in Lviv region. This will give a picture of the real state of implementation of digital technologies and understand how education is changing, what are the strengths and weaknesses of educational institutions in the region.
