Head of the Department of Computer-Aided Design, the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Mykhailo Lobur entered the collegial body of the Wrocław Town Hall, Republic of Poland.

During my recent business trip to Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk, Mayor of the city, appointed me to the Project Competition Commission. It is a great honor for me. After all, for many years Lviv Polytechnic has been closely cooperating with Wrocław and in particular with Wrocław University of Science and Technology. We implement joint projects, funded by the Polish government, including the NAWA project on the development of intelligent systems for assessing air quality in large cities, said Professor Lobur.

One of the projects, implemented in cooperation with the Telecommunications Department, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, concerns the transition to 5G mobile network.

To make Internet faster we need increase the substation capacity or increase their number. But in this context, we should also speak about threats to people. I presented this project, the implementation of which I hope we will soon sign. It aims to place on the buses in Wroclaw our devices, which measure electromagnetic radiation in real time as transport goes through the city. Apparently, this project became one of the impetuses to engage me in the competition commission of Wroclaw, said Professor Lobur.

According to the professor, for him it is important to deepen cooperation with Polish colleagues on the implementation of various projects through his work in the competition committee.

By the way, at the end of February a conference on the implementation of intelligent systems in the city’s infrastructure will be held in Wroclaw. Mykhailo Lobur was invited to participate in these discussions. And on March 4, a large delegation of Polish researchers and business representatives led by the Mayor of Gliwice will visit Lviv Polytechnic. This meeting will also concern the development of joint projects.
