During the week, 29 teams of students and schoolchildren from Ukraine (Lviv) and Georgia compete for the Leo Camp.
There are training competitions, which aim to determine the best of the best, who will reach the finals and compete for the main prize. But before that, participants need to show and prove their skills in algorithmic programming and the use of such programming languages as C++, Jawa, C#, Payton, and Pl/SQL.
«Similar events in Ukraine have already taken place in other cities, in particular in Uzhhorod, Kharkiv, and now in Lviv. It is not individual participants who compete, but teams. Training competitions last 4–5 hours, during which they need to fulfill as many tasks as possible – 10–11, and the team that performs the most and the best will be the winner», says Vasyl Biletskyi, founder and director of the Algotester platform.
Polytechnic never bypasses such events and tries to show students in practice what they will deal with in the future, in professional competencies. The advantage of such competitions is that they do not only help students to improve their programming skills, but also to develop creative thinking, as the websites created by participants must not only be well-programmed, but contain interesting, unique information and design.
«This is the first international programming school in Lviv. And Lviv Polytechnic gladly takes part in this event. Knowledge of algorithms is important for students majoring in Information Technology, and the spirit of competition contributes a lot as students want to learn something new and gauge their strength in serious competitions. Polytechnic is represented by five teams», said Nataliia Shakhovska, Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Systems, the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies.
