An online course «Energy industry is cool!» was presented in Kyiv. Its aim is to motivate young people, especially girls, to choose energy specialties when entering universities.

The course consists of 10 videos with comprehensive information about the energy sector.

«Such a course is very important for young people and the general public. It destroys myths and tells about various opportunities, for girls and women as well», commented Yaroslav Demchenkov, Deputy Minister, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

According to him, in Ukraine 27% of energy workers are women.

The target audience of the online course is schoolchildren, students, the teachers community, psychologists, and parents of schoolchildren. The course contains information, in particular, about the peculiarities of work in the field of energy, success stories, information about institutions that conduct training in the energy sector. In addition, there are tips from company representatives on how to write a resume and prepare for an interview.

The course is already available for public on the CareerHub platform.

The course was prepared by the NGO «Development of Corporate Social Responsibility» within the grant initiative «Girls in Energy Industry» with the support of the USAID Energy Security Project (ESP).

The partners are Lviv Polytechnic National University and the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy.

«This course, as an exciting journey through the energy profession, is interesting, relevant and full of opportunities», said Marta Martyniak-Andrushko, Associate Professor, the Department of Heat Engineering and Thermal and Nuclear Power Plants, Lviv Polytechnic National University.
