It was released an updated edition of World Universities Web Ranking 2019 in January 2019. Since 2005 Australian 4ICU (4 International Colleges & Universities) has been publishing its ranking, assessing the popularity of more than 11,000 universities in the world and 171 higher education institutions in Ukraine due to the popularity of their web resources. According to the ranking’s authors, it helps international students, academic staff and scientists to learn about the popularity of a certain higher education institution in different countries.
The ranking uses citation indicators and attendance of official websites of world universities. The sources of information are databases of the international Internet giant Google, the American company Alexa Internet (a subsidiary of Amazon) and the British company Majestic-12.
Lviv Polytechnic National University, in comparison with last year 4ICU ranking, has improved its positions by one point and entered the top ten higher education institutions in Ukraine.
