On Student’s Day, the youth of Lviv Polytechnic took part in a motivational meeting with Oksana Markarova, the tenth Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States and the first lady Ambassador in this country.
The event «Ukraine – USA: Diplomacy in Time of War» was organized by the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, Lviv Polytechnic.
Yurii Bobalo, Rector of Lviv Polytechnic National University, welcomed the distinguished guest, emphasizing:
– Today I have a special pleasure of welcoming you, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States of America, in Lviv Polytechnic. Thank you for finding the opportunity at such a difficult time in the life of our country and in your professional activities to meet with the academic community of Lviv Polytechnic. The United States of America has proven to be a reliable strategic ally and partner in our fight for freedom. And a big role in gaining this support for Ukraine in the world belongs to diplomacy. This work is difficult, but extremely necessary in times of upheaval, so that we are heard, understood and helped. And we thank you for the titanic efforts that you and your team from the Embassy of Ukraine are making to develop the dialogue between Ukraine and the USA at all levels. Your meeting with Lviv Polytechnicians is important for the students, for whom you are an example of professional success, as well as for all of us. After all, it will help to better understand the work of Ukrainian diplomacy in the conditions of war for our victory. We express our willingness to help you and wish you success, on which the life of our country and each of us depends. We believe in the power of Ukrainian diplomacy! We believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine! We are approaching our victory together!
Oksana Markarova took office at a difficult time for Ukraine, so on her shoulders there is the responsibility not only for deepening cooperation with the strategic partner and great friend of our state – the United States of America, but also for opening Ukraine to the world.
