University researchers met with Olha Polotska, Executive Director at the National Research Foundation of Ukraine, and Sofiia Azovtseva, Head of the Department of Communication and International Cooperation. At the meeting, they presented the Foundation’s activities, project management and new competitions.
– Today there was the meeting with the management of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine. They provided detailed information about the activities of the Foundation for the last two years, conducted an analytical summary of the processes that has taken place in connection with the competitive selection of recently announced projects, and announced new ones, – said Ivan Demydov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research. – The National Research Foundation of Ukraine is, in fact, a strategic partner of our University. It provides a significant amount of funding, grant support for projects that are developed at the University. Today there are seven projects and one more, where we are subcontractors. I will note that this year the amount of funding is about 16 million hryvnias. These funds are grant funds, they come to our accounts, and therefore the performers have the opportunity to purchase special equipment for their research. I will add that this is the peculiarity of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine: to provide in advance funds for the purchase of quite expensive equipment and devices that are needed to perform complex and competitive research. But at the same time, it should be understood that not everyone will be able to get funding, as this requires being top researchers who can guarantee that such equipment will be used effectively.
