On September 21, 2023, there was a creative meeting with representatives of such popular jazz bands as «Kvity na Asfalti», «Tender Blues», and «Dzyga Jazz Quintet» in the reading room of the Scientific and Technical Library, Lviv Polytechnic National University. During the event, Arkadii Oriekhov, Volodymyr Kit, Volodymyr Hereta, Larysa Rudenko, Valentyn Uchanin, Andrii Khrushch, and Volodymyr Sherstiuk talked to fans and performed their old hits. The event was moderated by Yaroslav Myroniuk, a well-known music lover and director of the Audio-Video Exclusive salon.
«I am sincerely glad to see supporters of our music lovers club. Today we have prepared a real surprise for you, as legendary jazz musicians have visited us. They started their creative activity back in the 60s of the last century. These are really famous people who were creating interesting musical improvisations. Their jazz hits will forever remain in the hearts of Lviv residents», said the moderator.
During the speech, Volodymyr Hereta reminded that in 2004 the Kvity na Asfalti band recorded their famous CD «Tantsi na Chystii».
«It’s been 20 years since we recorded the CD «Tantsi na Chystii» in Kyiv. I remember it like it was just yesterday. We are happy to play our songs for you again», said Volodymyr Hereta.
For many members of the Kvity na Asfalti band, Lviv Polytechnic is their alma mater. At the creative evening, musician Valentyn Uchanin shared his memories of his student years with the audience:
«It is nice to visit Lviv Polytechnic again. I’ve got a lot of warm moments associated with this place. This is where our creativity developed. No obstacles stood in our way. More than one decade has passed, but our music goes on. We will entertain you in the future as well».
The performance of the legendary jazz musicians drew a standing ovation and warm applause from the beginning to the end. In difficult times, creativity helps to entertain the soul and inspires new achievements. We express our sincere gratitude to the musicians for this incredible creative evening!
