The first master class for teachers of the region took place online. More than sixty teachers of mathematics, computer science, chemistry and physics applied to participate.

«We started our classes on the basics of robotics, because it is a combination of mathematics, physics and computer science. When filling out the questionnaire, teachers indicated their interests. The Academy has been working in the field of extracurricular activities since 2016. Our teachers, in addition to teaching children, are also practitioners working in their field. We have experience of working with teachers. Teachers will be able to use the acquired knowledge at their lessons or to form a course of extracurricular electives», said Olena Kobzieva, Director of the Start_IT Academy.

At the first lesson, Roman Hasko, a senior lecturer at the Department of Artificial Intelligence Systems, Lviv Polytechnic National University, presented the Arduino learning platform and talked about the combination of learning the basics of physics, programming and mathematics using free online simulators.

«The platform was created as a training project, over time it was developed into a training infrastructure that allows you to create various projects right at home. You can do a virtual simulation. It can be used in mathematics, physics or programming. You do not need to buy anything to start training. Among other things, there is a large selection of sensors that measure various values that can be used at physics lessons», said Roman Hasko.

After the theoretical master class it is planned to hold practical workshops. Similar classes will be held on web programming and computer graphics.

Workshops are designed to improve the skills of teachers and identify children’s requests for deeper study of certain topics.
