On the first Saturday of June, Lviv Polytechnic traditionally holds the Alumni Forum – an event that brings together generations of Polytechnicians from all over the world.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the event has been held online, which allows every alumnus to join in, regardless of where they are. The Alumni Forum is not just a meeting; it is a platform for sharing experiences, memories and inspiration.

According to Oksana Hordiichuk, Alumni Relations Team Leader at Lviv Polytechnic Marketing Department, such meetings give every Polytechnic alumnus the opportunity to re-immerse themselves in a special atmosphere: to recall the most interesting years of student life and learn about the university’s current life.

– One of the key initiatives of this year’s Forum is an online marathon of memories. We invited our alumni to record short videos, share stories from their student years, reproduce old photos and tell about unforgettable moments of study. These memories will become part of the common history of our university, says Oksana Hordiichuk.

Alumni meetings – All roads lead to the Alma Mater – are also a tradition of the Forum (more details here). These events will allow former students to visit their Departments, communicate with academics and groupmates, and to see the renovated buildings and laboratories of the university.

– We invite Polytechnicians of different years of graduation to come to the classrooms that are filled with particularly warm memories and unforgettable emotions for them. In addition, we will share alumni’s memories of the university, and invite you to take part in online tests about graduate’s sociotype and the university’s history.

The unique spirit of Polytechnic, those unforgettable moments of student life will always remain in the heart of each of us. These memories are not just nostalgia. It is our common foundation, our common history that unites thousands of people of different generations.

The Forum has created an online wish board where alumni can leave advice and guidance for nowadays’ students. This helps to strengthen the connection between generations and transfer valuable experience. Lviv Polytechnic actively keeps in touch with its alumni.

As Oksana Hordiichuk says:

– We always emphasise that there are no former Polytechnicians! This connection is continuous. Our graduates remain part of the university even after graduation. And the Lviv Polytechnic Alumni Forum is not just an event, but a symbol of unity, traditions and a common future. The University invites all alumni to join the events and create new pages in the history of our Alma Mater together.
