On July16, the Lviv Regional Military Administration hosted a meeting with students on the topic «Lviv Youth Capital 2025: Active Participation, Civil Protection and Human Rights». Oleksandr Kulepin, Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Marino Fardelli, Ombudsman of the Italian Republic, Carlo Colonnella, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Ukraine, Taras Podvirnyi, representative of the Human Rights Ombudsman in Lviv Region, as well as students from the Institute of Law, Psychology and Innovative Education, Lviv Polytechnic National University, Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, took part in the event.
During the meeting, they discussed human rights protection and public protection strategies in preparation for 2025, when Lviv will become the European Youth Capital.
«Ukraine is currently going through a difficult period, but I believe that thanks to your resilience and active participation, we will be able to overcome all difficulties and build a smart state. You are proof that Ukraine is a strong and unbreakable state. And your task is to plant the seeds of Ukraine’s future. Victory will be an example for the whole country. Despite the fact that some are trying to break us, we know that only active participation can move the country forward. I believe in you, in your strength and your unity. Together, we can win and create new, prosperous Ukraine», said Marino Fardelli, Ombudsman of the Italian Republic.
Carlo Colonnella, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Ukraine, stressed that Italy strongly supports Ukraine on all fronts – not only the military, but also the humanitarian, economic and diplomatic ones.
«Our goal is not only to help you win this brutal war, but also to contribute to the development of Ukraine as an increasingly democratic country», said Carlo Colonnella.
At the meeting the students of the Institute of Law, Psychology and Innovative Education, Lviv Polytechnic National University, were invited to attend an international conference of ombudsmen to be held in Cassino, Italy.
