The Second National Forum of Talented Youth, initiated by the Fund of the President of Ukraine together with the Office of the President of Ukraine, became a powerful platform for dialogue, motivation and exchange of ideas between the brightest representatives of the young generation from all regions of the country. The event also featured the recognition of the outstanding achievements of young Ukrainian scientists, whose work lays the intellectual foundation of the country’s future. The Forum attained a nationwide scope, bringing together science, culture, and active civic leadership, and underscoring the state’s strategic commitment to the development of Ukraine’s human capital.
The event was given special significance by the participation of the President of Ukraine, as well as the presence of heads of relevant ministries, leading state and public figures, and opinion leaders. This format of direct interaction became an important signal of support for young people and a clear confirmation that the scientific and social achievements of the new generation are an integral part of state policy and the strategic vision of the future of Ukraine.
The 2025 President of Ukraine’s Awards for Young Scientists were presented within the framework of the Forum, and were granted in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 863/2025 of November 27, 2025, based on the nomination submitted by the Committee for the Borys Paton National Prize of Ukraine. Among the laureates there were three researchers from Lviv Polytechnic National University, whose studies have significant scientific and applied value for the development of the economy, engineering, and the natural sciences.
In particular, the Prize of the President of Ukraine was awarded to Nazarii Popadynets, Professor at the Department of Economics and Marketing, the Institute of Enterprise and Advanced Technologies, for the study «Strategic Priorities for the Development of the Food Market of Ukraine in Conditions of External and Internal Threats», which is of key importance for the formation of the economic and food security of the state.
A state prize was also awarded to Vitalii Vashchynskyi, an Associate Professor at the Department of General Physics, the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Fundamental Sciences, for his scientific work «Porous Carbon Materials for Electricity – Generating Devices and Sorption Technologies».
The third laureate became Pavlo Vehera, Associate Professor at the Department of Building Constructions and Bridges, the Institute of Civil Engineering, Infrastructure and Life Safety, for his research «Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete Flexural Elements Using Modern Composite Materials» aimed at increasing the reliability and durability of engineering infrastructure.
