10 joint Ukrainian-Austrian research projects are approved for implementation in 2019–2020. The relevant decision was made at the Eighth Meeting of the Ukrainian-Austrian Joint Commission on Scientific and Technical Cooperation, held at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Thus, the scientists from both countries will work on projects on dealing with hazardous household wastes, the search for new approaches to the treatment of metastatic tumors, the impact of violations in the forests of the Chornobyl zone, and so on. The representatives of the institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and higher education institutions will participate in the research.
Among them there is a team of scientists from Lviv Polytechnic National University under the direction of Maria Halushchak, the assistant at the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Fundamental Sciences, that will carry out the project «Selective retrospective analysis of greenhouse gas emissions inventories of Ukraine and Austria to maintain compliance in climate agreements» together with the researchers from Austrian International Institute for Applied System Analysis.
Recently Maria Halushchak has won the Austrian grant by OeAD to realize her project.
