In 2016, Ukrainian freelancers made 8% of the market share and became leaders among IT freelancers in Eastern Europe. IT recruiting service topsdev analysts claimed this in their report.
According to this report, Ukraine has more than 30% of the market share. The most popular speciality of software developers among freelancers is HTML+CSS, PHP comes second, JavaScript comes third. However, the figures of payment per hour remained the same and are lower than those for Russian, Belorussian and Polish developers.
There are three Ukrainian institutions in the top 5 universities supplying the market with the biggest number of freelance developers. National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute», Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics and Lviv Polytechnic National University are among them.
Top 5 Ukrainian cities in the rating include Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Lviv and Odesa.
