On May 24, the final of the Startup Batiary 4.0 project was held at Tech StartUp School, Lviv Polytechnic National University. This year, a record number of participants joined it – more than 500 schoolchildren and students of vocational pre-higher education institutions attended the main and additional courses of the project.

From October to May, participants immersed themselves in the startup kitchen in the main course «Creative thinking and the path to a startup» and learned a lot of interesting things in additional courses:

  • biotechnology;
  • 3D modeling and 3D printers;
  • control of the drone and its construction;
  • robotics and Minecraft;
  • artificial intelligence and introduction to IT;
  • public speaking and the art of presentation;
  • space and satellites;
  • media literacy and media safety.

The jury selected 10 out of 97 projects submitted to the final competition Startup Batiary 4.0.

According to the results of the final, the project «Creation of an online resource with interactive maps for studying the geography course at school» developed by a team consisting of Solomiia Andreichuk, Yarema Kertutskyi and Roman Yatsyshyn – students of Lyceum No. 5, IT College of Lviv Polytechnic and Yevshan Gymnasium in Lviv – received 1st place.

«It all started with the fact that each of us, filling out contour maps at night, realized that this is a real problem for schoolchildren and teachers that needs to be solved. In the next step, we plan to apply for a grant and contact the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Digital Transformation, because the implementation and technical support of our project requires a large amount of funds», said this year’s winners.
