Bohdanna Duma, a third-year student majoring in the International Relations, Public Communications and Regional Studies program at Lviv Polytechnic National University, won a scholarship and took part in the international academic mobility program – Summer School from the public organization The Young Diplomat, which was held in the Hague, the Netherlands, from July 3 to 13, 2022.
Bohdanna comments on her participation in the Summer School as follows:
– It was an extremely intensive 11 days of training, where we, students from different parts of the world, studied theoretical and practical negotiation and mediation techniques and strategies, which are the basis of training a specialist in the field of diplomacy.
In addition to a rich program with leading European professors, ambassadors, mediators and diplomats, we had the opportunity for informal communication between the participants, where we made sure how professional and motivated the school’s participants are. Everyone had the opportunity to share their experience, knowledge and skills. The interest of those present in the Russian-Ukrainian war was especially pleasant. I fully felt their sincere support and desire for Ukraine’s victory over the Russian aggressors.
During an interesting internship, Bohdanna Duma had the opportunity to learn from practical experience of European ambassadors and young colleagues. School participants learned about the work of the embassies of Malta, the USA and France. They also had the opportunity to take part in diplomatic receptions and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of diplomatic protocol and etiquette, visit representative offices of international organizations, diplomatic institutions, headquarters of international courts, as well as talk with European politicians, diplomats, and scientists
Participation in such events is an extremely valuable experience in the training of specialists in the field of international relations. Therefore, the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Lviv Polytechnic, sincerely wishes Bohdanna further achievements!
