On August 28, 2023, the first familiarization session for veteran’s assistants was held at the Veteran Services, which has been recently opened at Lviv Polytechnic National University. We remind you that such positions are being introduced within the framework of the initiative of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine to develop a system of returning servicemen from military career to civilian life in the state.

This is the largest educational group that has started training workers for veteran service offices in communities at the chosen universities of the state. In general, it is expected that almost 50 veteran assistants, trained according to the program developed by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, will graduate from the mentioned institution.

In addition to the training of such specialists, the Veteran Services will educate veterans and their family members to develop their own professional skills, so that they can undergo retraining and practice developing their abilities to start their own business.

It is important that the International Organization for Migration, SoftServe and EPAM made a significant practical contribution to the development of the Veteran Services here.

In general, the training course for veteran’s assistants will last three weeks. The first day was dedicated to getting the participants to know each other, the trainers and the university, where they will spend their learning time actively and creatively. After completing the training, the participants will take a comprehensive exam, which will be an admission to practical work with the veteran community.
